Passengers

I found this movie very unique and interesting.

As we watch the movie, the story starts with a plane crash with the few passengers surviving. Then Claire, whose been played by Anne Hathaway, is a psychotherapist is called upon to counsel the survivors, who are vulnerable to post traumatic stress in a group setting. One of the survivors, Eric whose been played by Patrick Wilson, refuses to participate in the group therapy and  claiming to her that he is okay. He is experiencing a psychological disturbance or a psychological disorder because he seems to be happy and cheerful who has just been in a sudden plane crash. Then hurriedly, Claire visits him at Eric’s place to talk with Him and trying to help him.

Though he refuses her expert help, he shows that he likes her unexpectedly. This is the weirdest part. Some of the patients under Claire’s supervision and counseling, stopped showing up. One of the weirdest part is when Claire and the patients noticed a stranger looking at them during the group sessions. Then some other things happen that make Claire and her patients wonder whether the plane accident was not caused by pilot error as believed, but by a malfunction of the plane itself, and the airline company is trying to clear the evidence. Hoping that knowing the reality would help her patients, Claire is trying to find out what really happened. What she ultimately discovers is far beyond her expectation and contrary to what she believed.

The end of the movie is totally unexpected and astounding, and that is the best thing about it. We find our questions been answered. Unknowingly, both Anne and Patrick were dead and the people around them were dead also because they were also victims of the sudden plane crash. The only reason why they were around Anne and Patrick is because of trying to convince both of them the fact that they are already dead. Anne Hathaway plays with impressive talent the role of a psychotherapist working with distressed and obstinate patients, who has some emotional and social problems herself. The excellent cinematography of this movie which gives it an air of vagueness or mystery in a very fine manner.
